AIOU announces admissions for Autumn 2026 semester

ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP):Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), the largest distance learning university in Pakistan, has announced admissions for its Autumn 2026 semester.

According to the admission advertisement issued by the Directorate of Admissions, admissions are open in a wide range of programs from Matric to PhD level.

As per the admission schedule, the last date for submission of fresh admission forms for Matric, FA, AD, BS, http://B.Ed, PGD and Certificate Courses is 05-10-2026 with late fee. The same deadline is also applicable for continuing students for enrollment.

The university is offering programs in two modes to facilitate students from different backgrounds.

Under the Open Distance Learning mode, students can apply for Matric in General, Science, Dars-e-Nizami and Open Courses, Intermediate programs including FA General, FA Dars-e-Nizami, ICom, FA Open Courses and FSc Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering. Associate Degree programs of two years are available in BA General, BCom, BA Open Courses and also in specialized subjects like Arabic, Business Administration, Commerce, Education, English, Gender and Women Studies, International Relations, Library and Information Sciences, Mass Communication, Pakistan Studies, Political Science, Sociology and Psychology.

For those who have completed their intermediate and graduation, BS programs based on HSSC of four years’ duration are offered in Arabic, Islamic Studies with specializations, Accounting and Finance, BBA, English, Gender and Women Studies, History, International Relations, Pakistan Studies, Urdu, Economics, Computer Sciences with specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and many other fields.

Similarly, BA and BSc based BS programs of 2.5 years and AD based BS programs of two years are also included in the same subjects. The Teacher Training programs include http://B.Ed. programs of 1.5 years, 2 years, 2.5 years and 4 years, along with Postgraduate Diplomas and a large number of short-term certificate, diploma and professional courses for skill development.

Alongside distance learning, the university has also announced face-to-face programs for science students.

These include BS programs based on BSc of 2.5 years and ADS based of 2 years in Chemistry, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Botany, Environmental Sciences, Microbiology and others.

Associate Degree and BS programs based on FA and FSc of four years are offered in Computer Sciences with specialization in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Information Technology, Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Health and Physical Education and BSc Hons Agriculture.

These face-to-face classes will be conducted at the main campus and at regional campuses located in Islamabad, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Multan, Karachi, Quetta, Muzaffarabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Peshawar, Rahim Yar Khan and DG Khan.

The university has made the application process simple and fully online. Students can check eligibility and program details from the prospectus available at the official website and apply online at https://fmbp.aiou.edu.pk. Manual admission forms for Matric, Intermediate, ADA, BEd and ATTC are also available at regional offices and sale points across the country.

Continuing students can register their courses in CMS at https://enrollment.aiou.edu.pk.

Fee can be deposited in any branch of ABL, MCB, FWBL and NBP or through mobile wallets including Upaisa, Easypaisa, JazzCash and 1-Link.

The university has also invited international students living across the world to get admission through its online learning management system where they can submit assignments and appear in examinations online.
