ICT Police raid Sheesha Cafe in private housing society, arrest five
ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police’s Lohi Bher Police station team have arrested five persons during a raid on a sheesha cafe in a private housing society and recovered five hookahs from the spot.
An official told APP on Tuesday that the action was carried out under the supervision of SHO Lohi Bher Police Station Chaudhry Muhammad Yousaf Jutt against alleged illegal sheesha smoking.
According to FIR No. 671/26, police received information that some people were allegedly smoking sheesha at a cafe in the private housing society. Acting on the information, a police team raided the cafe at around 9 pm on September 28.
Police arrested five persons identified as Haroon Ali, Aswad Hassan, Shehzad, Muhammad Tauseef Yousaf and Malik Umar Mehboob.
During the raid, police also recovered five hookahs (sheesha) from the cafe and took them into custody as case property.
The official said a case was registered against the arrested persons under Sections 8, 9, 10 and 11 of the Prohibition of Smoking and Protection of Non-Smokers Health Ordinance, 2002, along with Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Police said further investigation and legal action in the case were underway.
