SARGODHA, Sep 29 (APP):Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams inspected 41 water filtration plants across the district, imposing Rs10,000 fine on two plants over minor deficiencies.
According to a PFA spokesman on Tuesday, the teams collected water samples from the filtration plants to assess water quality and ensure compliance with food safety standards. The samples were sent to laboratories for testing, where 22 were found unfit due to the presence of specified bacteria.
Following the laboratory results, 22 filtration plants were immediately closed until corrective measures were taken, while two others were fined Rs10,000 each for minor deficiencies.
The spokesman said inspections and sampling of water filtration plants were continuing across the province to ensure the provision of safe and hygienic drinking water to citizens.
