ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP):At least 10 children were injured when a school van carrying students fell off the road and caught fire in Murree on Tuesday, rescue officials said.

According to rescue sources, the van was carrying students from private and government schools when the accident occurred. The vehicle caught fire after a spark developed in its battery.

After receiving information, rescue and firefighting teams reached the site, put out the fire and evacuated all the children from the vehicle.

The injured students were given first aid at the scene and later shifted to Civil Hospital Murree for medical treatment.

Deputy Commissioner Murree and Assistant Commissioner visited the hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured students.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.
