Funeral prayers for police cop held at Police Lines
RAWALPINDI, Sep 28 (APP): Funeral prayers for constable Saleem Akhtar, who died of cardiac arrest earlier on Monday, were offered at Police Lines Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob, SSP Investigation Saifullah, senior police officers, personnel of the Elite Force and district police, and a large number of citizens attended the funeral prayer.
Constable Saleem Akhtar passed away earlier in the morning after suffering cardiac arrest. He had joined the police department in 2007 and was serving with the Elite Force.
CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera expressed grief over the constable’s death, saying that the deceased was a hardworking and capable police officer whose services to Rawalpindi Police were highly valued.
The CPO said the police department stood with the bereaved family in this difficult time and expressed condolences to the family of the deceased.
Constable Saleem Akhtar will be laid to rest in his native village, Hakimal, in Chakbeli Khan.
