Supreme Court rejects bail plea of madrassa student abuse suspect

ISLAMABAD, Sep 28 (APP): The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the bail petition of Zain Ali, an accused in a case involving the alleged sexual abuse of a madrassa student.

A two-member bench, headed by Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, heard the case.

During the hearing, counsel for the accused contended that a false case had been registered against his client, arguing that it was a small madrassa where such an act was not possible.

Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan remarked that committing such an act at a madrassa would make the matter even more serious.

The state counsel informed the court that charges had already been framed against Zain Ali.

Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail observed that if the accused was innocent, he should establish his innocence during the trial.

A case against Zain Ali had been registered at Taxila Police Station over the alleged sexual abuse of a madrassa student.
