DC directs immediate completion of city’s mega projects
SARGODHA, Sep 28 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry on Monday expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work on ongoing mega projects of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and directed officials to expedite construction without compromising on quality.
According to a spokesperson, during a visit to various parts of the city to inspect development works, the Deputy Commissioner reprimanded the staff present on the spot for delays. Taking notice of public inconvenience caused by deep potholes and excavations at Khushab Road and Civil Hospital Chowk, he questioned the concerned authorities over the delay in minor repair works.
He directed that all obstacles to public movement be removed immediately and that development projects be completed strictly within their stipulated timelines to provide relief to citizens.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the construction and repair work on the Khayam Chowk flyover, where Executive Engineer (XEN) Highways Gulfam Awan briefed him on project milestones and progress. He also visited the proposed site for the Arena Sports Stadium on Fatima Jinnah Road to review project plans.
Deputy Director Development Mehtab Yasin, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Ahmed Bilal Makhdoom, XEN Highways Gulfam Awan, and senior WASA officers accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.
