Heavy rain disrupts power supply to 150 PESCO feeders across KP
PESHAWAR, Sep 28 (APP):Heavy rain and strong winds disrupted power supply to 150 feeders in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last night, PESCO spokesman said on Monday.
He said 41 feeders in Peshawar Circle, 35 in Khyber Circle, 17 in Swabi, 9 in Mardan, 7 in Swat, 18 in Dera Ismail Khan and 23 in Bannu had developed faults due to the adverse weather.
The spokesman said strong winds had also caused power poles to fall at several locations.
On the directives of PESCO Chief Akhtar Hameed Khan, field teams had launched repair work to restore power supply, while essential equipment, including poles, transformers and wires, was being provided to the teams.
He said a special control room had also been established at the PESCO headquarters to deal with the emergency situation.
Most of the affected feeders would be restored within a short time, he added.
Consumers could call PESCO helpline 118 to lodge complaints regarding power supply, the spokesman said.
