ITP issues rain advisory as water accumulation slows traffic on Islamabad roads
ISLAMABAD, Sep 28 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Monday issued a traffic advisory as rain continued in the federal capital, warning motorists that water accumulation on different roads could slow traffic flow.
An ITP spokesperson told APP that citizens should leave early and keep extra time for their journey to avoid inconvenience during the rainy weather.
The spokesperson advised motorists and motorcyclists to reduce speed and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead, as wet roads could increase the risk of accidents.
Drivers were asked to use fog lights during rain, stay in their lanes and properly use side mirrors, indicators and seat belts while driving.
Motorcyclists were advised to use the extreme left lane, keep their speed low and wear helmets for their safety.
The spokesperson said ITP officers were present on roads to facilitate and guide citizens and help maintain smooth traffic flow during the rain.
Citizens were also advised to follow the Islamabad Police WhatsApp channel for further traffic updates and information.
