GIMS hosts academic session on critical cardiology concepts

SUKKUR, Sep 27 (APP): A well-organised academic session was held at the Cardiology Department of Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), focusing on critical concepts in cardiology and essential clinical investigations on Sunday.

The session, held in the conference hall of GIMS, provided an engaging learning environment for young doctors, postgraduate trainees and medical students. The theme displayed on the main screen as When Heart Stops, Everything Stops, underlined the importance of timely cardiac care and systematic evaluation, followed by a detailed discussion on essential investigations in cardiology.

The academic activity was held under the patronage of Prof Dr Raheem Bux Bhatti, Director, GIMS. Participants paid tribute to his visionary leadership, noting that under his guidance, GIMS has continued to promote academic excellence, research culture and professional growth.

Dr Niaz Abbasi, Interventional Cardiologist at GIMS, led the session and shared expert insights on current practices in interventional cardiology. His presentation and interactive discussion with participants remained the highlight of the proceedings.

Dr Yar Muhammad Tunio, Associate Professor of Medicine, also contributed to the academic discourse, adding significant value to the session with his clinical perspective.

The organisers recognised the contributions of the speakers by presenting souvenirs, a gesture aimed at encouraging academic participation and professional momentum.
