District administration takes action against overcharging wholesalers
LAHORE, Sep 27 (APP):The district administration on Sunday took strict action against wholesalers and shopkeepers found violating the official price list during price control operations across the district.
According to a spokesperson,prices of chicken and vegetables were checked at 2,697 locations across the district while 97 cases were registered against those found charging prices higher than the officially fixed rates.
Three violations involving failure to display the official price list were also detected.
During the operations,152 persons were fined,with a total penalty of Rs.478,500 imposed on violators.
Two shops were sealed,while one person was arrested for violating the prescribed rates.
The spokesperson said that prices of chicken and vegetables,display of the official price list and accuracy of weighing scales were also checked during the operations.
