KOHAT, Sep 26 (APP): Engineer Syed Faik Shah of North Pakistan was elected unopposed as President of the Kohat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) at its 13th Annual General Body Meeting held here on Friday.
The meeting, chaired by Pir Ubaidullah Shah of Ghamkol Sharif, was attended by Chamber members, newly elected Executive Committee members, business leaders and other prominent citizens. The Election Commission on Saturday also announced the unopposed election of Basit Imtiaz Pracha of Imtiaz Grains Factory as Senior Vice President and Muhammad Rashid of Bangash CNG as Vice President.
Outgoing President and founding member Rashid Pracha highlighted the Chamber’s performance and major initiatives during his tenure, particularly efforts to address issues confronting the business and industrial community. He expressed his commitment to continue serving the business community within the legal framework and available resources.
Newly elected President Engineer Syed Faik Shah thanked members for reposing confidence in him and pledged to work for resolving the problems faced by traders and industrialists in Kohat. He also expressed his resolve to make the Chamber more active and effective, improve coordination with government departments and promote local trade and industry.
The meeting approved the financial accounts for fiscal year 2025-26, the annual report and other agenda items, besides approving the appointment of an auditor or audit firm for fiscal year 2026-27. The newly elected cabinet will assume its responsibilities and formally begin work on October 1, 2026.
