DIKhan health facilities put on high alert after Darazinda blast

Dera Ismail Khan, Sep 26 (APP): Health facilities in Dera Ismail Khan have been placed on high alert following the Darazinda blast at joint checkpost, with surgeons and Medical Superintendents directed to remain available round the clock, while hospitals have ensured readiness of doctors, paramedical staff, medicines and blood to provide immediate treatment to the injured.

On the directions of the District Health Officer (DHO), DIKhan Dr. Syed Muhammad Maseed, all surgeons working under his administrative control have been directed to remain vigilant and readily available to respond to any emergency situation.

Similarly, all Medical Superintendents have been directed to remain alert and available 24/7 and ensure that their official contact numbers remain active and reachable round the clock. They have further been asked to respond promptly to any emergency call or requirement.

Hospital Director DHQ Teaching Hospital  Dr. Farrukh Jamil said that seven injured persons were received at the Accident and Emergency Centre (Trauma Centre) following the blast. Three patients were shifted to operation theatres, where their treatment was underway.

He said doctors, paramedical staff and other hospital personnel were fully prepared and actively providing medical services to the injured. The hospital had also ensured adequate availability of medicines and blood and was taking all necessary measures to facilitate and provide timely treatment to patients.

Meanwhile, the Regional Blood Centre (RBC) dispatched red blood cells, fresh frozen plasma and other blood components free of cost to Mufti Mahmood Teaching Hospital for treatment of the injured. A technical team was also sent to the hospital, while additional blood components were being prepared at DHQ Teaching Hospital.

Manager RBC Dr Muhammad Rizwan Rajput appealed to citizens to donate blood in large numbers to help save the lives of the injured.
