Seminar on “Artificial Intelligence: Emerging trends and global implications” held

KARACHI, Sep 26 (APP): The Pakistan Institute of International Affairs (PIIA) organized a seminar on “Artificial Intelligence: Emerging Trends and Global Implications” at its library here on Saturday.

      Ammar Jaffri, founder of Digital Pakistan, former Additional Director General, Federal Investigation Agency, on Cyber Security for the National Security of Pakistan shed light on the Use of Al for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

     He said that traditional cyber security method will end soon.

      He said that the technology is changing the traditional trends.

     Dr Ammara Aftab, CEO and Founder, Pro Al Global, speaking on the topic of ‘Al Diplomacy and the Global Al Race: Pakistan’s strategic position in the emerging Al Order, said that AI is becoming foreign policy infrastructure there and it has also dark sides.

     She said we need to be careful of those dark side of the Artificial Intelligence.

     She was of the view that now we have multiple data centres in Pakistan and those centres have impact on environment.

    She further said that Americans have already raised their concerns over it.

    Another Speaker Zarrar Khuhro, Commentator and Analyst, spoke on the theme of Al: The end of the world as we know it, Why Al developers and whistle-blowers are sounding the alarm.

     He said that there is a threat that almost after 10 years we will forget to think due to AI tools.

He said that it will have a lasting impact on the minds of human being.
