CM lauds PM for highlighting Kashmir, Palestine issues at UNGA

LAHORE, Sep 26 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has lauded Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for highlighting the Kashmir and Palestine issues at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and effectively representing Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah at the international forum.

In a statement on Saturday, the chief minister expressed appreciation for the prime minister on addressing the UN General Assembly for the fourth consecutive time, saying he had presented Pakistan’s position on key international issues with conviction.

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had forcefully raised the Kashmir issue and presented Pakistan’s case on the India-Pakistan water dispute with sound arguments. She said the prime minister had also raised a strong voice for the rights of Palestinians and condemned Israel’s actions, while emphasising the need for a peaceful resolution to the Iran conflict.

The CM said the prime minister had rightly declared the protection and sanctity of Haramain Sharifain a red line, thereby representing the sentiments of the Muslim Ummah. She added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had effectively highlighted Pakistan’s human and financial sacrifices in the fight against terrorism before the international community.

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the address also drew global attention to serious challenges, including religious hatred and Islamophobia.
