NBF to hold reception for Kanwal Bahzad’s children’s book ‘Anji Ki Topi’ on October 1
ISLAMABAD, Sep 26 (APP):National Book Foundation (NBF) will hold a reception on Thursday, October 1, in honour of renowned author Kanwal Bahzad for her popular children’s book “Anji Ki Topi”.
The event will bring together writers, scholars and literary personalities, who will discuss the evolving landscape of children’s literature.
Talking to APP, NBF Director Headquarters Murad Ali Mohmand said that the event would be held at the National Book Foundation, 45 Book Centre, near Telephone Exchange, Mustafa Town, Lahore.
He said the event would provide prominent personalities associated with children’s literature with a platform to share their views on “Anji Ki Topi,” the importance of quality literature for children, contemporary literary trends and ways to develop reading habits among the younger generation.
Renowned writer Musarrat Kalanchvi will preside over the event, while NBF Managing Director Dr. Kamran Jahangir will deliver the opening remarks.
Kawish Siddiqui, Sadia Qureshi, Noreen Roma, Qurrat-ul-Ain Shoaib and Afrah Nawaz will also speak on the occasion and highlight various aspects of children’s literature, its role in nurturing creativity among children and fostering a lasting relationship between children and books.
NBF Director Headquarters said the purpose of the event was to highlight the creative tradition of children’s literature and promote a reading culture among children through engaging and quality books.
He invited writers, scholars, literary personalities, parents, teachers, students and book lovers to attend the event and contribute to the literary gathering.
