Punjab Youth Games registration deadline extended to Sept 30
DG KHAN, Sep 26 (APP):Registration for the Punjab Youth Games has been extended until September 30,2026(Wednesday) to encourage greater participation of children and youngsters in the provincial-level sporting event.
So far, 9,371 young people have registered in the district while students from public and private educational institutions and seminaries,from middle to university level,will also be eligible to participate.
The decision was taken at a review meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office and chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner(DC),Headquarters Ahmed Raza Butt.District Sports Officer Rabia Batool,Divisional Focal Person Javed Ilyas Lodhi and other officers attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that trials at educational institutions would be held from October 7 to 13,2026 followed by union council-level competitions from October 23 to 26,2026 tehsil-level contests from November 2 to 5,2026 district-level competitions from November 9 to 12,2026 and divisional competitions from November 17 to 20,2026.
The provincial-level competitions would be held from December 1 to 5,2026 in various sports,including athletics, tape-ball cricket,hockey,kabaddi,badminton,tug-of-war,karate,basketball and handball.
DC Ahmed Raza Butt directed the officers to expedite the registration process and ensure maximum participation, saying the games would help identify talented players at the grassroots level and provide them opportunities to develop their sporting abilities.
