CM reviews performance of Maryam Nawaz Hospitals
LAHORE, Sep 26 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Saturday reviewed the performance of Maryam Nawaz Hospitals established through the transformation of rural health centers across the province where more than 7.824 million patients have received medical treatment.
The meeting,chaired by the CM,was briefed by Secretary Health Nadia Saqib on the performance of outsourced rural health centers operating as Maryam Nawaz Hospitals and the healthcare facilities being provided to people in rural areas.
The meeting was informed that over 5.251 million patients had been treated at Maryam Nawaz Hospitals while 32,944 normal deliveries had been conducted at these facilities.
The hospitals had also successfully performed 50,348 major surgeries and more than 287,000 minor surgical procedures,providing essential medical and surgical services to rural communities.
Furthermore,more than 1.583 million pathology tests had been conducted at the hospitals.
The diagnostic facilities included complete blood count (CBC),liver function tests (LFTs),renal function tests (RFTs),hepatitis C (HCV) screening,erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and other laboratory tests.
The rural hospitals had also provided more than 618,000 radiology services,including ultrasound and electrocardiograms (ECGs) along with other diagnostic facilities.
The meeting reviewed the provision of accessible healthcare services to residents of rural areas through the transformed health facilities.
The briefing highlighted the expansion of medical treatment,surgical,maternity and diagnostic services at Maryam Nawaz Hospitals across Punjab.
