A civil court in Islamabad has issued bailable arrest warrants for the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Commissioner Islamabad over non-implementation of a court decree issued in 2000.
Bailable arrest warrants issued for CDA Chairman, Islamabad Commissioner
ISLAMABAD, Sep 25 (APP): A civil court in Islamabad has issued bailable arrest warrants for the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Commissioner Islamabad over non-implementation of a court decree issued in 2000.
The warrants were issued by Civil Judge Nasiruddin while hearing an application filed by Muhammad Rashid seeking implementation of the decree in his favour.
The decree in the case was passed in favour of the petitioner in 2000. The matter subsequently reached the Supreme Court, which upheld the decision in his favour.
According to the petitioner, despite acquisition of his land, compensation had not yet been paid under the rehabilitation and resettlement policy. He approached the court seeking complete implementation of the decree.
Barrister Hasnain Haider Thaheem appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner and requested effective and complete implementation of the decree.
Taking note of the non-implementation of the court’s decision, Civil Judge Nasiruddin issued bailable arrest warrants for the CDA chairman and Islamabad commissioner.
The court directed the relevant authorities to ensure implementation of the decree and warned that they would have to face legal proceedings in case of non-compliance.
