ISLAMABAD, Sep 25 (APP): The Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA) team, along with trained assessors on Friday conducted a comprehensive assessment of Ali Medical Centre as part of the ongoing licensing process, focusing on patient safety, security and quality of healthcare services.
The assessment was carried out against the Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) indicators prescribed for healthcare establishments, covering key areas related to safe and effective patient care.
The assessment also focused on measures adopted by the healthcare facility to protect patients from preventable risks, ensure safe clinical practices and maintain appropriate standards of care throughout the patient journey.
Patient safety measures include proper identification of patients, infection prevention and control, safe medication practices, effective communication among healthcare professionals and mechanisms for reporting and addressing adverse events.
The security component covers measures aimed at maintaining a safe environment for patients, attendants, healthcare workers and visitors, including appropriate access controls, emergency preparedness and procedures for responding to potential security risks.
The IHRA said such licensing assessments help identify areas requiring improvement and ensure that healthcare establishments comply with prescribed standards for patient safety, quality of care and security.
The authority said these activities form part of its regulatory mandate to ensure quality healthcare standards and safeguard public health in Islamabad.
The IHRA, through its licensing and assessment process, continues to evaluate healthcare facilities against the MSDS indicators to promote safer healthcare environments and strengthen the quality of services provided to the public.
