ISLAMABAD, Sep 25 (APP):The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC), conducted an industrial disaster response mock drill at FFC Goth Machhi in Rahim Yar Khan on Friday to test emergency procedures, inter-agency coordination and operational readiness for potential industrial emergencies.
The simulation exercise brought together representatives of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Health Department, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, Police, SPD/DESTO, Industries Department of the Government of Punjab, NDMA and local industry, along with FFC’s emergency response teams.
The drill provided a practical platform to assess existing emergency response procedures and coordination among district, provincial and industrial authorities.
It also focused on strengthening communication and ensuring a timely and coordinated response to potential industrial hazards by testing the operational readiness of relevant departments and stakeholders.
The exercise helped identify operational gaps and areas requiring improvement in communication, coordination and emergency response mechanisms.
NDMA said such exercises were part of its proactive approach to disaster risk management, aimed at strengthening preparedness, institutional coordination and emergency response capabilities across the country.
