UK, NTUF explore new avenues for textile research, academic collaboration
FAISALABAD, Sep 24 (APP): A two-member delegation of the British Council Islamabad visited the National Textile University Faisalabad (NTUF), exploring opportunities for deeper academic collaboration, joint research and student exchange programs with Pakistan’s premier textile-focused institution.
The delegation, comprising First Secretary Caroline Vanessa Elizabeth Montgomery and First Secretary Sabiha Tamanna Ahmed, visited the university and held detailed discussions with its senior management on expanding educational and research linkages between the United Kingdom and NTUF.
During visit, the delegates toured the National Textile Research Center where they were briefed in detail about ongoing advanced research in the textile sector. They also visited various laboratories and academic departments of the university and showed keen interest in the research facilities, technological capabilities and academic activities being undertaken there.
Later, the delegation held a meeting with NTUF Rector/Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rashid Masood in his office. The meeting focused on prospects for strengthening institutional cooperation between the UK and NTUF, particularly through collaborative research projects, academic linkages and student exchange programs.
Prof Dr Rashid Masood welcomed the visiting officials and briefed them about the university’s academic and research achievements as well as its growing international linkages. He highlighted the role of NTUF in promoting innovation, research and human resource development in the textile and related engineering fields.
The British Council representatives appreciated the university’s academic and research performance and expressed interest in further developing avenues of cooperation in areas of mutual academic and research interest.
Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ahmad, Dean School of Engineering and Technology, Dr Ahsan Nazir, Dr Muhammad Qamar Khan and PRO Sardar Pervez Akhtar were also present during the visit and meeting.
