Zero tolerance being enforced against dishonesty, corruption in official affairs: DG FDA

FAISALABAD, Sep 24 (APP): Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General (DG) Muhammad Asif Chaudhry has said that zero-tolerance policy against dishonesty and corruption in official affairs is being strictly enforced.

He warned dishonest employees to mend their ways, cautioning that if complaints and allegations are substantiated, strict departmental action will be taken against the officials responsible, including dismissal from service.

He was presiding over a meeting to review office discipline, the performance of officers and staff, and progress in the provision of services to citizens. Additional Director General FDA Qaiser Abbas Rind, Chief Engineer Mehr Ayub, Directors Asma Mohsin, Junaid Hassan Manj, Sohail Maqsood Pannu, Yasar Ejaz Chattha, Asim Mahmood, Afnan Saeed Sindhu, and other officers attended the meeting.

DG FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry emphasized upon transparency in official affairs, merit, adherence to the law, and timely relief to citizens.

He directed officers and employees to perform their duties with honesty, responsibility and professional commitment and to avoid creating unnecessary hurdles or delays in legitimate public matters.

He said that monitoring of official affairs at the FDA is being further strengthened, while the performance of officers and employees is being reviewed regularly.

He stated that indiscriminate action would be taken in case of negligence in duties, absenteeism, unnecessary delays in work, misuse of authority, bribery, or any form of corruption.

Muhammad Asif Chaudhry said that effective monitoring is essential for addressing citizens’ complaints and resolving their issues.

He directed all officers to ensure that pending cases, applications and public complaints in their respective departments are disposed of within the prescribed timeframe.

The FDA Director General further instructed officers to closely monitor the performance of their subordinate staff and maintain discipline in their offices, ensuring that no official uses government authority or office for personal gain.

He expressed his determination to further strengthen the ongoing measures for promoting transparency, accountability and merit at the FDA.

In line with the policies of the Government of Punjab, all necessary measures to eliminate corruption and improve governance in the Authority would continue to be implemented consistently, he added.
