PHF, Tech Valley Pakistan signs MoU to modernize hockey affairs

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) and Tech Valley Pakistan, the official local partner of Google in Pakistan, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to modernize hockey’s administrative affairs, player training and fan engagement on modern lines.

ISLAMABAD, Sep 24 (APP): The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) and Tech Valley Pakistan, the official local partner of Google in Pakistan, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to modernize hockey’s administrative affairs, player training and fan engagement on modern lines.
The signing ceremony was held here on Thursday, where PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani and Tech Valley Pakistan Founder and CEO Umar Farooq signed the agreement in the presence of global representatives of Google, said a press release.
Under the agreement, Tech Valley has been appointed as the Official Digital Transformation Partner of the PHF for a period of three years.
Under this partnership, the system of digital communication and record maintenance between the PHF, its affiliated regional associations and selection committees will be improved and streamlined.
The initiative aims to transfer past match details, all player records and administrative documents to a centralized digital system.
The agreement also proposes the establishment of a ‘Digital Player Performance and Talent Database’ to evaluate players’ performance. The database will maintain records of performance, medical history and fitness from grassroots and club hockey to the national team.
Furthermore, both parties intend to provide coaching staff with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced analytical tools for match footage analysis, player assessment and strategy development against opposing teams.
The MoU also include training and certification programs for PHF administrators, coaches and sports managers. Regional hockey academies will be trained to use digital tools for player registration and compilation of match reports. Tech Valley will provide project leads for all technical consultancy, data migration and coordination of the project.
Another key objective of this collaboration is to enhance fan engagement through digital platforms, including timely dissemination of match results, archives of past matches, live streaming and other interactive features. These services will be implemented after the commencement of the core work.
It is pertinent to mention that the MoU itself does not impose any financial obligations, separate agreements will be executed subsequently for all related expenses, licensing and software procurement.
