Pakistan’s foreign reserves rise to $26.81 billion, SBP reserves stand at highest level of $21.4 billion

The total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan increased to US$ 26,810.6 million as the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) held reserves surged to US$ 21,400.3 million, the highest ever level of SBP reserves in history. 

KARACHI, Sep 24 (APP): The total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan increased to US$ 26,810.6 million as the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) held reserves surged to US$ 21,400.3 million, the highest ever level of SBP reserves in history.
“During the week ended on 18-Sep-2026, SBP’s FX reserves increased by US$ 11 million to US$ 21,400.3 million”, the central bank Thursday reported in its weekly statement on the position of liquid foreign reserves.
Meanwhile, the foreign reserves held by commercial banks also increased during the period under review by $ 8 million to $ 5,410.3 million, the breakup of forex reserves showed.
Pakistan’s total liquid foreign reserves in the previous week ended on September 11, 2026, stood $ 26,791.2 million. Among them the State Bank of Pakistan held foreign exchange reserves of $ 21,389 million while commercial banks held the other $ 5,402.2 million.
