FIA arrests suspect in Australia visa fraud, recovers full Rs277,635 for complainant
ISLAMABAD, Sep 24 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad Zone has arrested a suspect in an Australian visa fraud case and recovered the entire Rs277,635 allegedly taken from the complainant.
An FIA official told on Thursday that the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Islamabad arrested the suspect in a case registered after completion of Inquiry No. 644/2024.
The investigation found that the suspect had allegedly received Rs277,635 from the complainant on the pretext of arranging an Australian 476 visa, but neither provided the promised visa nor returned the money.
The official said the full amount of Rs277,635 was recovered following the arrest.
Investigators would also examine the role of any other persons allegedly involved in the case, while Inspector Muhammad Abdullah Kiani is conducting further investigation.
The FIA Islamabad Zone said it would continue action against elements involved in visa fraud and human trafficking and bring those responsible before the law.
