Rescue 1122 enhances fire safety preparedness at public institutions in DIKhan
Dera Ismail Khan , Sep 24 (APP):Rescue 1122 Dera Ismail Khan conducted fire safety training sessions at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital and the office of the Senior Civil Judge to enhance preparedness and safety measures for dealing with fire emergencies.
The training sessions were organised on the directions of Director General Rescue 1122 Shah Fahad and Director Operations South Region Imran Khan Yousafzai, under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Dera Ismail Khan Muhammad Arif Khan.
At the DHQ Hospital, Rescue 1122 personnel provided participants with practical training on immediate and safe response measures in case of fire, basic principles of handling fire emergencies and the proper and effective use of fire extinguishers.
The participants were also given a practical demonstration of the use of fire balls and different methods of controlling fire.
They were briefed about the safe handling of firefighting equipment, precautionary measures and procedures for safe evacuation during an emergency.
A similar fire safety training session was conducted at the office of the Senior Civil Judge, where Rescue 1122 officials briefed participants about fire prevention measures, different types of fire and the appropriate use of fire extinguishers according to the nature of the fire.
The rescue personnel also demonstrated the practical use of fire extinguishers and explained emergency evacuation procedures, emergency exits and basic safety measures to be adopted during a fire incident.
District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan said that fire safety training was essential for employees of public institutions as timely and appropriate action could help minimise risks to human lives and property during emergencies.
He said Rescue 1122 was continuing awareness and training activities in public and government institutions to improve fire preparedness, promote preventive safety measures and develop a culture of emergency response.
He added that the department would continue extending technical guidance and practical training to institutions to enable their staff to respond effectively and safely to fire-related emergencies.
The Rescue 1122 officials stressed that regular fire safety drills, proper knowledge of firefighting equipment and awareness of emergency evacuation procedures were important components of institutional preparedness.
