Empowering Pakistani youth through IT, AI, modern skills among govt’s key priorities: PM

NEW YORK, Sep 24 (APP):Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday calling the talented overseas Pakistani youth a pride of the entire nation, highlighted that his government was taking all-out measures to empower youth through information technology, artificial intelligence, and modern skills.

The prime minister, in a separate meeting with delegations of the US-based Pakistani community and youth, invited them to propose improvements across various sectors and play their full role in the development of Pakistan.

Among those who met the prime minister included healthcare professionals, information technology and artificial intelligence experts, social entrepreneurs, and heads of various youth-related NGOs.

Welcoming the delegates, the prime minister, who is in the United States to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, said that he had a firm belief that only the youth could change the destiny of Pakistan.

He noted that the provision of laptops and scholarships to talented youth, alongside equal educational opportunities for economically vulnerable students through Daanish Schools—a practice he had initiated during his tenure as Punjab chief minister—was continuing in his capacity as the prime minister as well.

Prime Minister Shehbaz told the delegates that besides providing international-standard education to economically disadvantaged children through Daanish Schools, a global-standard Daanish University was also being established.

He welcomed their suggestions for the youth’s uplift and assured them of the government’s full support.

The members of the youth delegation appreciated the Prime Minister for his initiatives aimed at youth development, particularly in the fields of information technology and ease of doing business.

The meetings were attended by Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Special Assistant Bilal bin Saqib; Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Asim Iftikhar, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh; Spokesperson to the Prime Minister on Foreign Media Musharraf Zaidi, Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Syed Qamar Raza, Managing Director of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Afzal Bhatti, and other relevant senior officials.
