DIG Faisal holds open court, orders prompt action on citizens’ complaints
LAHORE, Sep 23 (APP):Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran held an open court on Tuesday and heard citizens’ complaints, issuing immediate directions to concerned police officers for their resolution.
During the open court, citizens lodged complaints concerning threats, inheritance and property disputes, fraud, cheque-related matters, business disputes and other issues.
On a complaint regarding an alleged fraud of Rs1.2 million in a land purchase, the DIG directed the SHO Raiwind City to register a case after verification and take legal action against those found responsible.
On a complaint regarding alleged illegal occupation of a house, the DIG marked an inquiry to the SDPO Chuhng and directed that the matter be investigated on merit.
He also directed the SHOs Shadbagh and Shahdara Town to take legal action on complaints regarding non-payment of rent.
A citizen also complained that his former factory owner was allegedly threatening his children. The DIG directed the SHO Harbanspura to provide protection to the citizen and take necessary action in accordance with law.
DIG Faisal Kamran said the police had adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and social crimes, adding that providing protection and legal guidance to citizens was the responsibility of the police.
He said citizens could approach the open court daily from 1 p.m to 3 p.m for resolution of their complaints.
The DIG further said citizens could also lodge their complaints through Facebook Live at 12 noon every Sunday.
