ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP): Section 144 remains in force in the federal capital, and the district administration has said that no type of public gathering or assembly is allowed in the city.
The district administration said the ban on gatherings is also imposed under the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Act 2024. Citizens have been directed to comply with the restrictions and avoid participating in any activity that violates the law.
According to the district administration, legal action will be taken in case of any violation. It said that violation of the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Act carries a punishment of three years in prison.
The administration urged citizens not to become part of any illegal activity in the city. It also called on people to cooperate with security institutions and demonstrate responsible citizenship.
The district administration said the restrictions are applicable to gatherings and assemblies in Islamabad. Citizens have been advised to follow the orders and avoid any activity that could result in legal action.
The administration further appealed to residents to cooperate with the relevant authorities and security institutions while the restrictions remain in place. It reiterated that any violation of the applicable laws would be dealt with according to the law.
The district administration also asked citizens to remain aware of the restrictions and ensure compliance with Section 144 and the provisions of the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Act 2024.
