CCPO orders crackdown on theft, fraudsters at traffic signals
LAHORE, Sep 23 (APP):Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana on Wednesday directed police officers to keep a close watch on beggars and fraudsters at major roads and traffic signals and take indiscriminate legal action against elements involved in crimes through deceptive practices.
He issued the directions while chairing a meeting at Capital City Police Headquarters to review progress on measures for preventing theft incidents in the city.
The meeting reviewed in detail the progress made in curbing theft and discussed compilation of comprehensive records of habitual offenders involved in theft and pickpocketing, along with measures for their effective monitoring.
The CCPO directed officers to ensure effective patrolling at theft hotspots and use Punjab Safe Cities Authority cameras for timely identification and arrest of criminal elements.
He directed all divisional SPs to personally supervise investigations into theft cases and asked police officers to improve supervision and command while focusing on professional policing.
DIG Administration Imran Kishwar, DIG Investigation Zeeshan Raza, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed, SSP Operations Abdullah Ahmad and all divisional SPs attended the meeting.
