PP-203 Sahiwal by-election to be held on Nov 8 : ECP
ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP):The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for the by-election in Punjab Assembly constituency PP-203 Sahiwal, with polling to be held on November 8.
According to the schedule issued by the ECP on Wednesday, candidates will be able to file their nomination papers from October 1 to 3.
The preliminary list of candidates will be published on October 4, while scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed by October 8. Appeals against decisions of the Returning Officer on acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be filed by October 12, while the appellate tribunals will dispose of the appeals by October 19.
The revised list of candidates will be published on October 20, followed by withdrawal of nomination papers on October 21.
Election symbols will be allotted to the contesting candidates on October 22. The ECP has appointed District Election Commissioner Sahiwal Captain (retired) Samiullah Farooq as District Returning Officer. Chief Officer, District Council Sahiwal Khudadad Tarrar has been appointed Returning Officer for the by-election.
