KMC to partner with Arts Council for world culture festival: Murtaza Wahab
KARACHI, Sep 23 (APP):Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) will partner with the Arts Council of Pakistan for the World Culture Festival being organized under the auspices of the Arts Council and will provide Frere Hall, Burns Garden and other suitable venues for the festival events.
KMC will extend full cooperation for the festival not only by providing venues but also in terms of roads, municipal services and advertising arrangements.
He expressed these views during a meeting with President Arts Council of Pakistan Muhammad Ahmed Shah. Municipal Commissioner KMC Abrar Jaffar, Finance Adviser Gulzar Abro and others were also present on the occasion.
Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that hosting an international-level cultural programme in Karachi is an honour for the city.
He directed the Director General Parks and Senior Director Culture to remain in close coordination with the Arts Council of Pakistan and finalize arrangements for venues, parks, roads and other municipal facilities required for the festival. He said that all relevant institutions would work together to promote cultural activities in Karachi.
