ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have been provided with Net Launchers, a modern non-lethal tool designed to safely restrain fleeing suspects and assist police personnel during challenging law and order situations.
According to an official, the Net Launchers were provided by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi as part of efforts to equip Islamabad Police with modern non-lethal policing tools.
The device fires a specially designed net that restricts the movement of a targeted person, enabling police personnel to bring the individual under control while reducing the risk of serious injury.
The official said the equipment could be particularly useful in apprehending fleeing suspects and dealing with certain crowd-control and law and order situations where safe restraint was required.
The introduction of Net Launchers is part of efforts to provide ICT Police with modern equipment for safer and more effective policing in the federal capital.
