FAISALABAD, Sep 23 (APP): Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has approved educational scholarships for 38 children of its employees in recognition of their outstanding academic performance during the academic year 2025-26.
FESCO spokesman said here on Wednesday that the scholarships were approved on the special directions of FESCO Chief Executive Engineer Muhammad Amir and under the supervision of Director General (Administration) Farrukh Aftab.
He said that the initiative was aimed at encouraging employees’ children, meeting their educational needs and helping them access better educational opportunities.
He said that the applications submitted by employees for educational scholarships were thoroughly scrutinized and verified in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations before approval.
To ensure transparency in the process, the Management Committee for Welfare Grant, comprising Additional DG (CM) Major (retd) Muzaffar Qadir Malik as Convener, Deputy Director CA-I Muhammad Irfan as member and Assistant Director (HR) Sanaullah as member, conducted a detailed review of the applications.
Deputy Director A&S Faraz Ahmed, Audit Officer Muhammad Shahbaz, Munir Samim, Rana Ahmed Raza and other relevant staff also assisted the committee in scrutinizing the applications and completing the verification process.
Following the detailed scrutiny, the scholarships were approved for eligible students from different cadres of FESCO employees on the basis of their academic performance during the academic year 2025-26.
The approved scholarships included Rs20,000 for one Class-IX student while 19 matriculation students will receive a combined amount of Rs450,000.
Similarly, 13 students enrolled in different bachelor’s degree programs will receive a total of Rs510,000 while one master’s degree student will receive Rs35,000.
Two MPhil students will receive a combined scholarship of Rs70,000 whereas two students pursuing Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) will receive a total of Rs75,000, FESCO spokesman added.
FESCO Director General (Administration) Farrukh Aftab said that FESCO management attached special importance to the welfare of its employees and the wellbeing of their families.
He described employees as a valuable asset of the organization and said supporting the education and development of their children was among the institution’s important responsibilities.
Such initiatives not only encouraged employees’ children to pursue academic excellence but also provided them with opportunities to further develop their abilities and contribute to the progress of the country in the future, he added.
