RDA-led operation clears encroachments from public passage in Bankers Colony
RAWALPINDI, Sep 23 (APP): The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), in collaboration with the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Additional Deputy Commissioner Enforcement (ADCE) and Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA), had removed encroachments obstructing a public passage in Bankers Colony.
The joint anti-encroachment operation was conducted at Street No. 16, Bankers Colony, on the directions of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General RDA Salman Ghani.
According to the RDA spokesperson, Commissioner Salman Ghani has made it clear that encroachments on public passages would not be tolerated, adding that coordinated enforcement operations would continue to protect public rights of way and ensure unobstructed access to public spaces.
The Commissioner also ordered a comprehensive survey of charges applicable to the approval of illegal buildings, commercialisation, complementary maps and plans, and directed action for regularisation of illegal residential-cum-commercial buildings wherever permissible under the applicable laws and regulations.
