Attaullah Tarar visits Haji Shah Jee Gul Afridi’s residence, offers condolences on Sher Afridi’s demise

PESHAWAR, Sep 23 (APP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, accompanied by Prime Minister’s coordinator Ikhtiar Wali Khan and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, visited the residence of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Haji Shah Jee Gul Afridi in Hayatabad, Peshawar.

He offered condolences to the bereaved family over the death of Haji Jannat Sher Afridi, elder brother of former Senator Taj Muhammad Afridi and former MPA Shafiq Sher Afridi. He also offered Fateha for eternal peace of the deceased.

Speaking to the media afterwards, Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa did not lack resources but rather the political will to utilize them for the benefit of the people.

He claimed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had more funds than Punjab but was not spending them on the public.

Referring to the planned march of PTI, Attaullah Tarar said the Islamabad High Court had already issued a decision on the matter, adding that a single day of sit-in protests was causing losses of Rs120 billion.

The federal minister said the federal government had never backed away from cooperation and wanted to work with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Govt in every sector for progress and prosperity of its people.

However, he said the provincial government maintained that it did not need such assistance and kept the province underdeveloped.

Attaullah Tarar further said maintaining law and order was not the sole responsibility of the federal government and urged the provincial government to demonstrate seriousness in addressing the issue.
