Pakistan, Hungary reaffirm commitment to expand ties in diverse areas

NEW YORK, Sep 23 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with his Hungarian counterpart, Anita Orbán, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly in New York where the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Hungary relations and enhancing cooperation in political, economic, trade & investment, business, education, and people-to-people domains.

During the meeting, the deputy prime minister congratulated Foreign Minister Orbán on assuming her office and conveyed his best wishes for a successful tenure, according to a press statement issued by the Foreign Office on Wednesday.

Both sides stressed the importance of convening regular bilateral consultative mechanisms to maintain momentum in bilateral engagement.

The two ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments. DPM/FM underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means of addressing challenges and stressed the importance of all parties returning to the Islamabad MoU.

The two sides agreed to remain in close contact on bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest.
