YUNCHENG, Sep 23 (APP):The 37th Guan Gong Cultural Festival officially began on Wednesday in Yuncheng, Shanxi Province, the historic hometown of Guan Yu (Guan Gong), one of the most revered figures in Chinese history and traditional culture.
The festival brings together culture, history, tradition, and international exchange through a vibrant program of ceremonies, cultural performances, traditional arts, exhibitions, academic activities, and community celebrations. Visitors and participants gather to honour Guan Gong’s enduring cultural legacy and explore the traditions associated with his hometown.
Known for values traditionally associated with loyalty, righteousness, integrity, courage, and trust, Guan Gong has become a cultural symbol whose influence extends far beyond Shanxi. His story and image continue to hold significance across China and in communities around the world.
