Gilani departs for Belarus to further strengthen parliamentary,bilateral relations
ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP):Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Wednesday departed for the Republic of Belarus on an official visit at the invitation of his counterpart Natalya Kochanova, Chairperson, Council of the Republic.
The visit is aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations and parliamentary cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus.
The visit carries particular significance in view of the growing momentum in Pakistan-Belarus relations and the shared desire to expand cooperation across political, parliamentary, economic and people-to-people domains.
During the visit, the Chairman Senate is scheduled to hold meetings with the President of Belarus, the leadership of the Belarusian Parliament and other senior officials, during which matters relating to bilateral relations, parliamentary exchanges and regional and international developments will be discussed.
The Chairman will underscore the importance of regular parliamentary exchanges, institutional linkages between the two Parliaments and greater interaction among parliamentarians and parliamentary committees.
Chairman Senate is accompanied by Senators Mir Dostain Khan Domki, Senator Umer Farooq Kasi, Senator Mohsin Aziz, Senator Agha Shahzaib Durrani and Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti.
The visit reflects the Senate of Pakistan’s continued commitment to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and international parliamentary engagement in support of Pakistan’s broader bilateral and diplomatic objectives.
