14 suspects arrested in Chiniot crackdown
CHINIOT, Sep 22 (APP):Police have arrested 14 suspects during operations across the district in the last 24 hours as part of crackdown against criminal elements in line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of “Crime-Free Punjab.”
According to police, eight proclaimed offenders were apprehended during a special drive against fugitives, while six others were held for illegal gas refilling, negligent driving and electricity theft.
During checking through Police Post App, 419 suspicious persons and 348 vehicles were inspected, while over 400 vehicles were challaned for traffic violations with fines exceeding Rs. 600,000.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said practical measures were being taken to ensure safety of citizens’ lives and property and suspects were being arrested through effective use of human resources and modern technology.
