284,000 children get polio vaccine on first day of anti-polio drive
FAISALABAD, Sep 22 (APP):As many as 284,000 children under five years of age were administered
polio vaccine on the first day of polio drive in the district.
This was told in a meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee held
with Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Noman Siddique here on Tuesday
in the chair.
The meeting was informed that anti-polio drops were being administered
to the children at general bus stands, motorway interchanges, bazaars,
parks and other public places in addition to door to door.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the micro plan should be strictly implemented
and no child should be missed from administering polio drops.
He also directed the officers concerned to strictly monitor the anti-polio drive.
Assistant Commissioner, District Health Officer, Deputy District Health Officers,
and representatives of UNICEF and WHO were present in the meeting.
