MULTAN, Sep 22 (APP):Punjab Anti-Polio Programme head Khalid Pervez on Tuesday reviewed polio

vaccination arrangements in mobile and migrant settlements and at key transit

points in the city, stressing that no travelling or mobile child should be missed

during the ongoing campaign.

During his visit, Khalid Pervez inspected vaccination activities at different locations

and checked the vaccination status of children. All children whose status was

verified during the inspection were found vaccinated.

He also reviewed the performance of field teams, micro-plans and vaccination

arrangements and met representatives of mobile and migrant communities. He

emphasised effective community participation to ensure complete coverage of

children.

Khalid Pervez directed polio teams to check the Vaccine Vial Monitor (VVM) and

expiry date before administering vaccine doses and maintain adequate stocks

of essential supplies in the field.

Later, he inspected the transit vaccination point at the bus stand, checked children

travelling on buses and administered polio drops to them. He directed the teams

to ensure that every eligible child passing through the city was vaccinated.

He said Multan was an important transit city with a large daily movement of

passengers, making vaccination at transit points crucial for preventing the

spread of poliovirus.

He also directed officials to pay special attention to shrines and other locations

frequented by travellers and mobile populations to minimise the risk of poliovirus

transmission.
