M-1 Motorway to close for all traffic from 11pm Wednesday, M-2 to remain open
ISLAMABAD, Sep 22 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Tuesday advised motorists to avoid travelling on the Peshawar Motorway (M-1) as it will remain closed to all types of traffic from 11:00 pm on Wednesday, September 23, until further orders.
An ITP official told APP that commuters from the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, as well as other districts, should avoid travelling towards the M-1 and postpone unnecessary journeys.
The official said that, in contrast, the M-2 Motorway (Islamabad-Lahore) would remain open to all types of traffic.
Motorists were advised to plan their journeys in accordance with the traffic advisory and strictly follow the directions issued by traffic police.
ITP urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel towards the M-1 during the closure and cooperate with traffic personnel to prevent inconvenience and congestion.
