SC dismisses contempt pleas against Amir Liaquat, Shoaib Sheikh
ISLAMABAD, Sep 22 (APP):The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed contempt of court petitions against late Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain and Shoaib Sheikh in a contempt case involving Bol TV.
A five-member larger bench headed by Justice Shahid Waheed heard the case.
The court observed that proceedings for contempt of court in the matter had been initiated only against Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain, who had since passed away.
The court further observed that it did not consider it appropriate to initiate contempt proceedings against the other two parties. It noted that the petitioners had also not challenged the decision not to initiate proceedings against the other parties.
The Supreme Court subsequently dismissed the contempt petitions filed by Shahzeb Khanzada and others against Bol TV.
