AG Sindh reviews pension cases, accounts office issues in Hyderabad Division
HYDERABAD, Sep 22 (APP):Accountant General Sindh Miandad Rahujo on Tuesday chaired a meeting of District Accounts Officers (DAOs) and Additional District Accounts Officers (ADAOs) of Hyderabad Division at Shahbaz Hall, Shahbaz Building, Hyderabad and reviewed issues relating to pension cases and accounts offices.
Speaking at the meeting, the Accountant General Sindh said that during his visits to different districts of the province and open courts, he had personally observed a number of problems faced by pensioners particularly procedural delays and difficulties in the processing of pension-related cases.
He directed the accounts officers to deal with pensioners with due respect and facilitate them in resolving their cases. He said government employees served the state throughout their professional lives and it would be unjust if they were made to face difficulties or treated improperly after retirement.
The District Accounts Officers briefed the Accountant General about various procedural issues being faced by their respective offices and difficulties encountered in processing pension and other financial matters.
The meeting also discussed complaints regarding alleged double issuance or payment of certain allowances in the police, health and other departments. The Accountant General directed all concerned District Accounts Officers to examine the cases and submit detailed reports within one week.
The Accountant General stressed the need for transparency, proper scrutiny of government payments and timely resolution of pensioners’ grievances, and directed the officers to ensure that procedural shortcomings did not cause unnecessary hardship to retired employees.
