IGP Sohail meets goods transporters, orders release of essential goods containers
ISLAMABAD, Sep 22 (APP):Inspector General of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police (IGP) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry met a delegation of the Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance and directed that containers carrying medicines, food items and other perishable goods be immediately returned to their owners.
An official told APP on Tuesday that the IGP also directed that rent be paid to the owners of containers used by police for maintaining law and order in the federal capital.
The meeting discussed issues faced by goods transporters and measures to facilitate them while ensuring necessary arrangements for maintaining peace and public order.
The IGP Sohail said containers carrying essential and perishable goods should be released without delay so that their owners and businesses do not face unnecessary difficulties.
DIG Headquarters Muhammad Jawad Tariq and office-bearers of the Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance were also present at the meeting.
