RAWALPINDI, Sep 22 (APP):The cleanliness and plantation activities carried out by the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) along Nullah Lai have improved the overall environment and appearance of the area, with residents welcoming the initiative.
The activities were undertaken on the special directions of Cantonment Executive Officer Amir Rashid as part of efforts to improve cleanliness and greenery in the cantonment areas.
Residents appreciated the removal of accumulated garbage and subsequent plantation, saying the measures had transformed previously neglected spots into cleaner and more pleasant public spaces.
They urged the RCB to extend similar cleanliness and plantation activities to other locations facing waste accumulation and environmental concerns.
The residents also stressed the importance of regular maintenance of the newly planted areas and called upon citizens to dispose of waste at designated places and help protect the plants.
They said that sustained cooperation between civic authorities and the public could help ensure cleaner, greener and healthier surroundings.
The RCB’s ongoing efforts to enhance cleanliness, plantation and public spaces were welcomed by residents as a positive step towards improving the civic environment.
