Pakistan, Saudi FMs vow to strengthen bilateral ties under Makkah agreement

NEW YORK, Sep 22 (APP): Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement and promote regional peace, stability, and security.

The bilateral ties and cooperation as well as the Makkah agreement were discussed in a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly here.

The two leaders reaffirmed the deep-rooted and brotherly Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relationship and welcomed the signing of the Agreement on mutual exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official/special passports.

The deputy prime minister expressed Pakistan’s steadfast solidarity with the Kingdom and condemned the recent attacks targeting Saudi Arabia.

The two sides also underscored the importance of sustained high-level exchanges and continued close coordination on bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest.
