FAISALABAD, Sep 21 (APP):As many as 37 more candidates have been selected for membership of the Sports Complex FDA City which raised the number of Sports Complex members to 376.
FDA spokesman said here on Monday that continuous increase in membership reflected citizens’ growing interest in sports, physical fitness and positive, healthy activities which is an encouraging development for the promotion of a healthy and active society.
He said that on behalf of Chairman Management Committee/Divisional Commissioner Faisalabad Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, Director General (DG) Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Muhammad Asif Chaudhry chaired the interview session for new membership candidates at Committee Room of FDA Complex.
The candidates’ particulars, eligibility and other necessary matters related to membership were reviewed in detail, following which 37 candidates were cleared for membership of the FDA Sports Complex. Director IT FDA Yasir Ejaz Chattha was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the membership candidates, DG FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry said that modern, international-standard facilities for indoor sports have been provided at the FDA City Sports Complex, offering sports enthusiasts opportunities to engage in their favorite activities in a safe, organized and conducive environment.
He said that sports are essential not only for physical health and fitness but also play an important role in mental development and in promoting discipline, self-confidence, teamwork, mutual cooperation and positive thinking.
He said that master planning has been carried out to further improve and expand the facilities at the FDA City Sports Complex.
Special attention is being given to upgrading existing facilities, providing members with a safer and more comfortable environment, and promoting sports activities in an organized manner, he added.
The DG FDA urged the newly selected members to strictly comply with the rules and regulations, standing instructions and discipline enforced at the Sports Complex and to use the available facilities responsibly and positively.
He said that sports clubs and complexes are like a family. Therefore, all members must respect each other and demonstrate mutual cooperation and courtesy while upholding the dignity and reputation of the institution at all times, he added.
He made it clear that in case of any violation of discipline, the membership of the responsible member would be cancelled and the individual would be blacklisted and would also become ineligible for membership of any other club.
Congratulating the newly selected members, Muhammad Asif Chaudhry expressed the hope that they would make full use of the facilities at FDA Sports Complex to improve not only their physical and mental well-being but also play a positive role in promoting sports and healthy activities.
